Committed to Compassionate Care

Throughout the Metropolitan St. Louis area, many Seniors are living a fragile existence and are just one medical crisis or accident away from being able to live independently. These Seniors, struggling in poverty, have few assisted living options and nowhere else to turn for help. Mary Ryder Home, a nonprofit Residential Care Facility, provides low-income Senior women a safe home, nutritional meals, medical care, and an array of programs and services focused on promoting healthy aging and enhancing their quality of life both physically and mentally.

Admission Criteria

Our Residents must:

  • Be female, 55 years or older
  • Be low-income
  • Be able to make an unassisted “pathway to safety” in the event of an emergency
  • Provide their medical history and full financial disclosure prior to admission

Residents receive:

  • 24-hour protective oversight
  • Personal and supportive care services to assist Residents with basic activities of daily living
  • Medication Management
  • Diet-specific nutritional meals and snacks accommodating Residents’  chronic health conditions
  • On-site medical care from physicians and mental health professionals
  • Recreational and educational activities and outings
  • A supportive community and friendships with other Residents

Mary Ryder Home is not a Skilled Nursing Facility and does not provide skilled nursing care. We also do not provide programs that treat severe behavioral problems or substance abuse.
