According to the U.S. Census Bureau, one in every
three Seniors in St. Louis struggles to exist in poverty, and
are often forced to sacrifice their health because they cannot
afford rent, utilities, food AND health-critical medications.
Many
suffer a medical crisis or accident and quickly find they are
no longer able to live independently. With incomes at, below
or near poverty, they have few good long-term care choices and
often, nowhere to turn for help.
Mary Ryder Home is committed to serve the fastest growing
segment of the elderly population: those struggling
in poverty, who can no longer live independently. The programs
and services Mary Ryder Home provides to these Seniors every
day are costly. Approximately 86% of Mary Ryder Home’s
funding is from Residents’ rent, State of Missouri and
United Way of Greater St. Louis. The rest comes from donors
like you.
Your financial support helps Mary Ryder Home provide a safe
home, compassionate care and a quality life to more than 110
Seniors each year through our Assisted Living/Residential
Care programs and services. Donations from you, as well as
corporations and foundations, make the difference—without
each gift we could not continue to provide the highest quality
of care, therapeutic programs and services to Seniors in our
community who need them most.
Why do we do what we do? Because they deserve our
help!
